Day 1 – Los Mochis – El Fuerte
At your arrival to Los Mochis Airport, you will be transferred to El Fuerte, El Fuerte, a “Pueblo Mágico” from Sinaloa (Magic Town), founded in 1564. It offers its visitors beautiful colonial architecture of the Mexican Pacific, as well as outstanding gastronomy. Check-in at the hotel and following guided walk through the town’s square, Casa de la Cultura and the iconic Fuerte. Laten on, you’ll have free time to visit by your own the Capomos Community, where they produce clay articles and offers a tasting of corn and coffee from the region.
Day 2 - El Fuerte – Bahuicivo / Cerocahui
After having breakfast at the hotel, you’ll get the transfer to the train station, to board El Chepe Train, and ride the most beautiful scenery of the train’s ride. The train will pass through a series of tunnels and bridges that will allow you to appreciate the change in vegetation due to the descent from 1,625 m to 90 m above sea level.
In the early afternoon, transfer to the next destination: Cerocahui. Along the scenic road passing through the mountains, you can admire the beautiful landscapes with many rocky formations and mountain vegetation. Arrival and check-in at the hotel, with a following visit to the small village and the little vineyards located in the Tarahumara School for girls, which is led by a group of nuns.
Day 3 - Cerocahui – Divisadero (Copper Canyon)
Breakfast at the hotel and visit at the “Mirador del Cerro del Gallego” considered the most impressive point of the area from where you can admire the Urique Canyon with more of 2,300 meter of depth. Then you will continue to “El Divisadero”, located in the heart of the Copper Canyon, for accommodations at the Hotel Divisadero Barrancas. It is an amazing building at the edge of the mountain, offering an incredible view of the canyon from one of the highest points, and also near to the famous train station of “El Chepe”. After check-in, there will be a guided walk to Mount Mogotavo, the Tarahumara cave lookout points, where you’ll be able to appreciate the forms of life of this indigenous people and the conjunction of the Copper, Urique and Tararecua canyons.
Afterward, it is suggested to take off a couple of hours to admire the spectacular views from the lobby bar of the hotel.
Day 4 - Divisadero (Copper Canyon)
After having breakfast at the hotel, you’ll enjoy a Guided walk through the 1.5 km scenic path that includes extraordinary lookouts to take pictures, hanging bridges, and handmade craft stands, until you arrive at the famous lookout Piedra Volada (a steep, rock cliff with a pointy edge; above it, a“balancing rock”), and the entrance to the Copper Canyon Adventure Park. Undoubtedly, these are the best views of the Copper Canyon. Free time to enjoy the park and its diverse extreme and adventurous tourist activities for visitors, of all age ranges (rappel, zip lines, ride in mountain bike, etc..).
Day 5 – El Divisadero – Creel - Cuauhtémoc – Chihuahua
Breakfast, check-out and departure to Chihuahua.
On the way we will stop at Creel, named also “Magic Town” for its distinctive style reflecting the ancient traditions and lifestyle of the Tarahumara community and also for its privileged geographical location known as the doorway to the Copper Canyon surrounded by mountains, lakes, and forests. Here we will visit the lake of Arareco, Valley of the Mushrooms (named that way due to the shape of its rock formation), also the mission of San Ignacio, and a traditional Tarahumara Cave. Afterward, we will move toward Chihuahua, with a last stop in Cuauhtemoc, home of the largest Mennonite Community in Latin America. Here you’ll have the opportunity to visit one of their farms and also their traditional wooden houses, where they produce a delicious home-made cheese, known in Mexico as “Mennonite Cheese”. Definitely, something you can’t miss. Drop-off at the hotel and check-in.
Day 6 – Chihuahua - Airport (or next destination)
Breakfast and transfer to Chihuahua Airport.
Optional City Tour (Catedral, Quinta Gameros, Pancho Pancho Villa and the Colonial Aqueduct) according with the flight times.
