Day 1 – Cancun
Once you arrive at Cancun International Airport you will be received by our representative and transferred to the hotel. After your check-in you can enjoy of free time at the city center.
Day 2 – Cancun - Ek Balam - Chichen Itza – Merida
After having breakfast at the hotel, prepare yourself to visit one of the the least explored archaeological sites: Ek Balam, which the legend is the Black Jaguar, the Maya God that protected the city. Afterwards we will move to the most important Mayan ruin of the Yucatan Peninsula: Chichen Itza, known also as “One of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World”. Absolutely the most visited archaeological site in the peninsula of Yucatan, due to its extraordinary architecture beauty and its geographical location, Chichen Itza was one of the greatest Mayan centers of the Yucatán peninsula. The fusion of mayan centers construction techniques with new elements from central Mexico make Chichen Itza one of the most important examples of the Mayan – Toltec civilization in Yucatan. Several buildings have survived, such as the Warriors’ Temple “El Castillo” and the circular observatory known as “El Caracol”. Afterword we will be visiting one of the famous Cenotes in the area and later we will continue our trip to Merida, capital town of the Yucatan State, where you can enjoy a walk downtown and delight with the traditional Mexican cuisine in a typical restaurant.
Day 3 – Merida – Uxmal - Merida
Early in the morning you will be transferred to the archeological site of Uxmal, the most important of “Ruta Puuc”, to discover its most famous temple “La Casa del Adivino” and learn about another Mayan era, their culture and traditions and the way they used to live. At the end of the visit we will be returning to the hotel, to enjoy a guided city tour, including visits to the historical center and the popular Plaza Mayor y Casa de Montejo.
Day 4 – Merida – Coba – Tulum – Valladolid
On the last day you will enjoy the guided tour to Coba and Tulum archeological sites.
The first one is located in the heart of Mayan Jungle and has the highest pyramid of the area; the second one is located on the Mayan Riviera coast, just in front of the turquoise water of the Caribbean Sea. At the end of the visit, you will be transferred to the colonial town of Valladolid, where you will spend the rest of the day and the night in one of the historical center hotels.
Day 5 – Valladolid - Las Coloradas - Rio Lagartos – Riviera Maya
After having breakfast at the hotel, you’ll visit Las Coloradas, also known as “the pink sea of Yucatan”. The color of the water is due to the high concentration of salt that has the bottom, which makes it a real show. Afterword we will move to the fisherman village of Rio Lagartos, where we will take a boat tour of the lagoon, visiting the most interesting sites, among which the Sanctuary of the Rose Flamingos. At the end of the tour you will be transferred to Riviera Maya (or Cancun) for accommodations at the hotel of your choice.
